For years, Steve Reeser has had a mobile kitchen where caramel, cheese, and flavored popcorns have been produced on the spot at area fairs for your taste explosions. We are now selling that same great taste sensation on the Internet!
The Stevo's Popcorn Story began in the seventh grade. Steve was fascinated with the carnival circuit. In the summer, he traveled and operated the rides. Then in college, he inspected fairs for the state of Illinois, where his love for the carnival life grew. In 1975, he met a man selling fudge and licorice at the McCormick Place in Chicago. People would line up daily to enjoy this tasty combination. Steve thought, "I can do this." Upon returning to Michigan he bought one ton of fudge from the Morley Candy Company and the finest licorice at Switzer's in St. Louis, Missouri. And his small enterprise began.
From there, the business steadily grew and he perfected his new gourmet popcorn. The flavor of Steve's products helped him obtain an exclusive contract at the Pontiac Silverdome. There he sold his delicious fudge, candy, and of course, gourmet popcorn. He then sold his successful business to the Elias Brothers (owners of the Big Boy restaurant franchise in Michigan). In 1977, Steve pursued another passion, a carreer as a commercial auctioneer. Then in 2005, he returned to his first great love, making and selling his fresh, gourmet popcorn. He built a new popcorn vending trailer and during the summer months, he and his wife travel to carnivals, auto races, and fairs all around the region.
